SilverTab™ was introduced in 1988, coming in at the forefront of the baggy trend that defined late-80s and ’90s grunge denim.

SilverTab™ is known as the unofficial uniform for ’90s counterculture. It answered the call of skaters, rappers, ravers and GenXers and went on a decades-long joyride.

With SilverTab™, the attitude is in the details (or lack thereof). The jeans are a super-loose, clean silhouette that sit below the hips. The shape is big enough to speak for itself, purposely leaving room for larger-than-life personal style.

LEVI STRAUSS & CO., the California Gold Rush outfitter whose trademark blue jeans have been an American clothing staple for generations, closed it's last two U.S. plants in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS by the end of 2003 — early January 2004.
By that time more than 20 U.S. plants had already been shut down.
Soon after, in March 2004, the last three Canadian facilities were closed too, leaving it with no plants left in North America. It was the very end of American-made LEVI'S denim history, begins in the 1850's.
The head plant, the very first iconic LEVI'S denim factory founded on Valencia street in San Francisco, was closed in 2002, and the building itself was sold in 2005.
